Laminate is heat resistant to in excess of 380° F. Compare that to stone’s heat threshold of 400° F. It’s more stain resistant than stone. More chip resistant than stone and very scratch resistant due to today’s technological advances in manufacturing.  Needless to say, it’s far less expensive than stone.
